Leonie & Jarryd’s Rustic Beach Wedding

“The day went so smoothly and to plan we were able to sit back and enjoy it, even though it flew by!”

On 9^th of December, 2016, a “beautiful, breezy, beachy summer’s day”, Jarryd and Leonie Thompson were married after 2 years of planning. After 3 years of dating, Jarryd proposed to Leonie at her “favourite place in the world”, a lookout on the South Coast. So naturally, the couple decided to combine their love for nature with each other in a stunning rustic beach style wedding.

There ceremony was held at Sandon Point Reserve, Bulli. Located just outside of Woolongong, the lookout offers breathtaking views of the Bulli Tops and Sandon Point Beach. Leonie said her favourite part of the day was “seeing Jarryd as I walked down the aisle with all my guests smiling at me and the ocean breeze blowing through my hair while my dad was muttering jokes in my ear to stop the nerves.”

The reception was then held at City Beach Function Centre in Woolongong. Situated on the beachfront of City Beach and near the Woolongoing Head Lighthouse, it was the perfect location for the couple to celebrate their marriage in style.

Leonie wore the Allure Bridals 8862 wedding gown, bought from the Ferrari Formalwear & Bridal store. Floating and airy, the ball gown style dress was the perfect choice for the couple’s rustic beach theme. The layered organza skirt evokes the image of waves on a beach, and the Swarovski crystal and pearl brooch accent resembles coral or a starfish. The gown also showcases a ruched bodice with a sweetheart neckline.

 

Leonie paired the gown with a gorgeous hairpiece, also bought from Ferrari Formalwear & Bridal. Leonie said “My dress was perfect for the day! It was so comfortable and easy to dance in!”

Jarryd and the rest of the bridal party also looked elegant, fitting in perfectly with the rustic beach theme.
